Eco-Schools
The Eco-Schools Programme engages young people in activities that work towards protecting the planet and addressing environmental issues from climate change to plastic pollution. It empowers young people to make a difference in their school, local community and beyond. Schools can progress through the seven-step Eco-Schools Programme, choosing three topics from a potential of ten and once they have successfully completed it, they can buy an Eco-Schools Green Flag or Plaque.
As part of WCC’s commitment to the Eco-Schools programme, we will fund the Eco-Schools Green Flag for 50 schools each year for the next four years.
The funding is from our Sustainable Futures Strategy which sets out a goal to increase the number of schools who obtain the Eco-Schools Green Flag.
