Supporting nature's recovery in the West Midlands
Join the West Midlands Combined Authority and others at the West Midlands Greener Together Forum to share your views and ideas on how nature can thrive in the region.
It’s vital that everyone in the West Midlands has access to clean air, clean water and places to be active. How the natural environment around us is integrated into the way we live and work has a direct impact on the health and prosperity of the region; the WMCA will share updates on the progress made on the Natural Environment Plan and you can also pick up a free tree to take home to plant.
Speakers on the evening include:
Jeff Grant – West Midlands Forest Partnership Coordinator at the WMCA. Jeff will present on the Forest Partnership project with the Woodlands Trust, as well as share some details of the i-tree survey with Birmingham Tree People and the tree nursery study for local growing.
Matthew Griffin – Environment Programme Support Officer at the WMCA. Matt is working on creating a walking trail around the West Midlands, taking in sites of special interest and encouraging people to walk the trail. Matt will share will share key points from the work done so far, next steps, and ideas on how you can get involved.
Tony Thapar – Community Environment Fund Manager at the WMCA. The Community Environment Fund launched on October 27 with £1million of grant funding for community groups to deliver initiatives that improve the environment and people’s lives. Tony will present on how you can apply for the fund and the different themes we are looking to fund.
